The meaty list of servers available during this weekend’s Guild Wars 2 beta are below.Įurogamer recently flew out to ArenaNet’s home in Seattle, US, to find out more about the people making Guild Wars 2. Today, ArenaNet announced the availability of free world transfers until the end of March: ArenaNet: 'From now until April 1, you can transfer to worlds with a medium-sized population for free' The medium population servers are: Guild Wars 2 Servers - North America. The world/server guesting feature, however, won’t be available in this weekend’s beta. You’re given 2000 gems free of charge – enough for one transfer should you need it. During an anniversary livestream, ArenaNet also confirmed that all users will play in the same servers, regardless of where they choose to launch the game, saying, 'Whether you choose to log in through Steam or the Guild Wars 2 launcher, everyone plays together.' Unfortunately, players will not be able to transfer their existing accounts to Steam. World/server transfers are up and running for this weekend’s Guild Wars 2 beta test. And you fight in world versus world battles for the prestige of your world/server – not some “guesting” holiday home. That’s because world versus world battles pit entire worlds/servers against each other in huge, hundreds-strong battles. You can’t take part in world versus world battles, for instance. Guild Wars 2 will also let you “guest” on other worlds/servers free of charge, although doing so has some restrictions. The fee for swapping worlds/servers is 1800 gems – the micro-transaction currency. Changing a region means being “logged out for a short period of time while your account is moved”, developer ArenaNet explained. The caveat is that free accounts come with restrictions on certain features that could be used to disrupt the game experience of other users. Thankfully, it sounds like Europeans can inhabit US servers and vice versa. Guild Wars 2 Free Account (Features) If you don't want to purchase Guild Wars 2 right away, you can play the entire core version of the game entirely for free. I’d pick Andy Roddick – he’s a good server.
